In the heart of Sao Paolo, one of the world’s toughest, most chaotic cities, four brothers attempt to find a way out of poverty and deprivation. Denis, Dinho, Dario and Reginaldo live with their mother who is expecting a fifth child to another absent father. In the family’s attempts to avoid the criminality engulfing Brazil, Denis becomes a motorcycle courier, weaving perilously in and out of the city streets. With a cast of unknowns, Motorcycle Diaries director Salles presents a film brimming with energy, dazzling cinematography and fantastic performances.
