It’s just not Christmas without It’s A Wonderful Life is it? Frank Capra’s masterpiece of American cinema never feels old and is actually much darker than you may remember it. George Bailey (Stewart) dreams of leaving his small-town Bedford Falls life behind but his dreams are thwarted. One Christmas Eve, his uncle loses $8000 belonging to the family business. George decides that the only answer is to kill himself and here the magic of the film begins. He is saved by Clarence, a trainee angel, who shows him what Bedford Falls would have been like if George Bailey had never existed…
